The price quoted in € is for delivery/collection in Arc 1950. The price iin € is a bottle price. When purchasing on this site for delivery in Les Arcs the amount invoiced will be converted into sterling at a rate applicable at the time, this rate will be shown on the order page. All prices are shown including VAT or TVA as appropriate. Prices are subject to market and currency fluctuations, changes in duty and VAT rates and stock remaining unsold.
Payment Au Tour Des Vins accepts payment by Visa, Mastercard or by Switch/Delta card. In addition we can accept cheque payment but we reserve the right to confirm clearance of the cheque before despatching the goods.
Guarantee Wine is a living, breathing thing and can sometimes therefore be unpredictable. We offer a guarantee of quality; if any wine proves to be corked*, or in any other way faulty as a result of the winemaking process, we will generally either replace it or provide an alternative wine or, if you prefer, issue a refund or credit note to the value of the purchase price. We do not necessarily apply a time limit on this guarantee - we have great confidence in the wines we sell, which range from those ideal for immediate drinking right through to those that can age for many years. We place a great deal of trust in the integrity of our customers - all we ask is that common sense should prevail in deciding whether what is in the bottle is truly faulty (as a result of the winemaking process) or simply the result of poor storage conditions/left too long before consumption by the customer.
If you have any questions or comments regarding our guarantee policy, or wish to report a faulty wine, please contact us by telephone, letter or e-mail, and we will do our best to respond as quickly as possible.
*About "corked" wine: Should you find a bottle which displays mould, wet cardboard or similar musty or "metallic" taint, it is a classic sign that the wine is corked. Trichloroanisole, otherwise known as TCA, is a compound associated with cork and wood treatments that can make a wine smell, and taste, anything from slightly muted to very mouldy, and can occur in varying degrees. Exposure to air normally accentuates the problem. We are all different, and some people will have a greater "sensitivity" to TCA than others; the experienced may spot it immediately, whilst others may put it down to an "off" (or just plain bad) bottle. We at Au Tours Des Vins only sell wines from quality-minded growers, who take great pride in their products, all the way from the vine to the bottle. But even the use of the best possible cork closures cannot always guarantee against TCA. So please don't blame the wine itself! We want our customers to keep returning, so if you encounter a problem, please call us to arrange a replacement/alternative/refund/credit, and we will do our best to rectify the problem.
Delivery Schedule For UK delivery other than for local service is by courier. We endeavour to dispatch your wines within 48 hours of receiving your order. When payment is made by credit or debit card, in most cases your wine will arrive within 3 working days, although you should allow up to a week. In the case of payment by cheque (please telephone us to arrange this) we reserve the right to await cheque clearance prior to despatch of goods. Deliveries by carrier are not made on Saturdays, Sundays, or Bank Holidays. Additionally there may be occasional office closures due to holidays etc, and when the normal delivery schedule will not be possible; these will be advised on our website. If this applies, your order may still be placed, and will be processed on our return. However you will be notified by email of any delay, and you will have the option to cancel.
Breakages/Damage - wine should be examined on delivery for both condition and completeness/correctness of order. Any problems should be noted on the delivery note, and we should be advised as soon as possible, and at the latest within 48 hours. If it is not possible to inspect the goods on delivery, the carrier's delivery note should be marked "unexamined".
Special Delivery Instructions - if you do not expect to be at home to receive your wine when it is delivered, you may leave special delivery instructions (e.g. "leave in shed", "leave behind side gate"). We are happy to pass these instructions to the carriers, however neither we nor the carriers will accept responsibility should for any reason the wines be lost, stolen, or damaged as a result of such instructions being followed.
For prepaid deliveries into Arc 1950 we will attempt to deliver the wines into the apartment of your visit on the day of your arrival. However due to circumstances beyond our control this will not always be possible, in these situations a message will be left at the reception desk of the apartment block explaining how the wines can be received.
Withdrawal We aim to comply with the Distance Selling Code of Practice for Wines and Spirits ("the code") published by the Wine and Spirits Association. Goods should be returned in the same condition in which they were supplied, and with bottles unopened, at the customer's expense. Monies will then be refunded in accordance with the code. Notice of cancellation must be given in writing and will be effective upon receipt at Au Tours Des Vins UK office.
